Who is responsible for your data

What we collect
- Contact and delivery details: name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
- Order details: what you bought, amounts paid, delivery and return history.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and limited card details such as card type and last four digits, never the full card number.
- Account details: if you create an account, your name, email, phone and a securely hashed password (we never see your password).
- Chat and messages: what you write to us in the website chat, your account, the contact form or by email.
- Technical data: basic device, browser and usage information needed to run and secure the website.
How we use it and our legal basis
- To fulfil your order (process payment, deliver, handle returns and support): performance of a contract.
- To answer your questions in chat or by email: performance of a contract or our legitimate interest in helping you.
- To prevent fraud and keep the website secure: legitimate interests.
- To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation.
- To send marketing emails, only if you opt in: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
AI assistant in our chat
Our website chat is first answered by an AI assistant. Your messages are processed by our AI provider to generate replies, and you can ask to speak to a member of our team at any time. Please do not share card numbers or passwords in the chat.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the shop, under contracts that protect it:
- Stripe (payments and fraud prevention)
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Supabase (secure database and account sign-in)
- Anthropic (AI chat replies)
- Google (advertising measurement, only with your consent)
- Delivery carriers (to deliver your order)
- Email delivery providers (order and shipping emails)
We never sell your personal data. We may disclose data where required by law.
International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens we rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: 6 years, for tax and accounting purposes.
- Chat and support messages: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your chat conversation and your sign-in on this device. These are essential and always on.
With your consent, we use Google Ads cookies to measure which of our ads lead to a visit or an order. If you reject them, Google receives only cookieless, aggregated signals. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. Email contato@slatdistricts.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Our website is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
